Premium extraction
Supercritical CO2
Our premium CBD is simply natural, not synthetic. That's why we've opted for supercritical CO2 extraction. This involves treating a natural, plant-based raw material with CO2. Between the viscosity of a gas and the density of a liquid, supercritical CO2 carries the molecules along and circulates until the desired active ingredients are fully extracted, such as CBD, CBD-V, CBG or CBC, as well as numerous terpenes, while guaranteeing the exclusion of THC.

Can oil be used on oily skin?
Yes, you can use an oil on oily skin, as long as you choose the right oil. Contrary to popular belief, some oils are capable of regulating sebum production and restoring the complex balance of your epidermis.
Here are some plant oils recommended for oily skin:
- Jojoba oil: Similar to the sebum produced by the body, this oil is highly prized by our skin and helps to rebalance sebum production.
- Black cumin oil: Antibacterial, black cumin oil effectively eliminates skin imperfections.
- Hemp oil: Deeply moisturises the skin without leaving a greasy finish.
It's important to note that even if oily skin doesn't need to be nourished, hydration is essential. Poor hydration could encourage the epidermis to produce even more sebum in order to hydrate itself, aggravating the vicious circle of oily skin. So it's essential to work directly on the skin with the right skincare products.

How do I store my oil?
Store at room temperature, out of sight and reach of children, in a dry place protected from UV rays and light.
Avoid severe thermal shock.
What is CBD?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a molecule extracted from hemp. CBD is legal in France and most other European countries, provided it contains little or no THC, the psychoactive substance in cannabis.
CBD is used in many cosmetic products for its moisturising, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and sebum-regulating properties. CBD can be taken as an oil, placed under the tongue or added to food.
What are the benefits of CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD), a much less psychoactive substance than THC with no established risk of dependence, is thought to be of interest in the treatment of certain forms of epilepsy, anxiety, inflammation and immune deficiency, mood disorders and even schizophrenia.
It has now been proven that cannabidiol acts directly or indirectly on many of the body's receptors.
CBD, stress and anxiety
CBD does not bind directly to CB1 and CB2 receptors, but can modulate their activity by indirectly influencing their signalling pathways. This interaction helps to regulate various physiological processes, including stress response and mood.
- FAAH inhibition: CBD has been shown to inhibit the enzyme FAAH, which is responsible for breaking down anandamide. By inhibiting FAAH, CBD can increase the levels of anandamide in the body, thus improving the overall functioning of the SEC.
- GABA, or gamma-aminobutyric acid, is a brain neurotransmitter responsible for reducing neuronal excitability. It acts as an inhibitor in the brain. It helps to reduce neuronal activity and is responsible for calming the nervous system, relaxation and reducing anxiety. When GABA binds to its receptors in the brain, it reduces the excitation of neurons, resulting in lower levels of anxiety and stress.
Studies have shown that CBD can indirectly enhance GABA signalling by increasing the availability of GABA in the brain. CBD inhibits the activity of an enzyme called GABA transaminase, which is responsible for the breakdown of GABA. By inhibiting this enzyme, CBD increases levels of GABA in the brain, reinforcing its inhibitory effects and helping to reduce anxiety and stress.
CBD and mood
CBD also interacts with other non-cannabinoid receptors, such as serotonin receptors (5-HT1A) and transient receptors for vanilloid potential type 1 (TRPV1). These interactions may contribute to CBD's potential therapeutic effects, including stress relief, anxiety and mood enhancement.

Reducing Cannabis Consumption
Unlike THC, CBD is not addictive. A study carried out on 1,500 people showed that 11% of them used CBD to reduce their cannabis consumption, with success in more than half of cases.CBD acts on different receptors to THC, which could help to reduce cannabis use without causing dependence.
Inflammation
Numerous studies attribute undeniable efficacy to CBD as an anti-inflammatory on several levels:
- By blocking the migration of macrophages (digestion of foreign particles and pathogens).
- By regulating the activation of lymphocytes (recognition and destruction of foreign cells).
- By inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory substances.
- By promoting the release of other anti-inflammatory substances called "cytokines".
CBD improves skin condition
A growing number of studies place CBD and other phytocannabinoids as key ingredients for skin problems. According to the European Commission and their database of cosmetic ingredients (CosIng), CBD lists no fewer than 4 conclusive effects:
- Anti-seborrhoea: Helps control sebum production.
- Moisturiser: Keeps the skin in good condition.
- Protective: Helps prevent the harmful effects of external factors on the skin.
- Antioxidant: Inhibits reactions promoted by oxygen, preventing oxidation and rancidity.
How does CBD affect the skin?
CBD is a phyto-cannabinoid: a molecule that mimics endo-cannabinoids (cannabinoids produced by the human body) to interact with the endocannabinoid system: a set of receptors found throughout the body, including in the skin.
CBD acts on the skin by:
Modulating the production of sebum
Modulating the inflammation process
Protecting the skin against oxidative stress
Soothing sensations of itching or pain
It is a natural active ingredient ideal for skin issues, acne, and numerous dermatoses.
How is CBD used on the skin?
CBD can be used on the skin in various forms
Depending on the mode of application and the desired result, CBD can be presented in the form of oil, to be applied directly on the skin or mixed with a cream or serum.
CBD can also be found in the form of cream, balm, gel, mask, soap, deodorant, etc. CBD can also be vaporised in the form of water or mist, to be sprayed on the face or body.
At SOWÉ, we have opted for oily formulas to maximise the concentration of CBD in our formulas, since cannabinoids are fat-soluble.
What are the benefits of CBD on the skin?
CBD has numerous benefits for the skin, depending on the skin type and the issue being addressed. CBD can help with:
Regulating the production of sebum for oily or acne-prone skin
- CBD normalizes the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines (anti-inflammatory effect).
- CBD normalizes lipogenesis in sebocyte cells (lipostatic effect without compromising cell viability).
- CBD decreases the proliferation of these cells (antiproliferative effect without inducing sebocyte apoptosis).
- CBD exerts a sebostatic action (lipostatic and antiproliferative) by activating TRPV4 receptors, thereby significantly reducing sebum production.
Alleviating sensitive or irritated skin
Its regulatory action on the inflammation process helps limit the production of pro-inflammatory molecules at multiple levels. By doing so, it contributes to restricting the dilation of micro-blood vessels, thereby reducing the occurrence of skin redness. This is particularly beneficial for conditions like rosacea and psoriasis. As a result, the skin appears smoother and more soothed.
Reducing redness or inflammation
Many studies attribute undeniable effectiveness to CBD as an anti-inflammatory at various levels:
- By blocking the migration of macrophages (digestion of foreign particles and pathogens).
- By regulating the activation of lymphocytes (recognition and destruction of foreign cells).
- By inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory substances.
- By promoting the release of other anti-inflammatory substances called "Cytokines".
CBD demonstrates its effectiveness as an anti-inflammatory at various levels.
Preventing or reducing signs of ageing
The antioxidant effect of CBD helps slow down the oxidation process of cells, thereby preventing the occurrence of oxidative stress. CBD thus delays the natural aging process of cells and acts as a barrier against factors leading to premature aging that we encounter daily.
Hydrating dry skin
CBD improves the appearance and texture of the skin, making it more supple, smoother, and radiant.

What is CBG or cannabigerol?
CBG or cannabigerol
CBG, or cannabigerol, is a type of cannabinoid obtained from the cannabis plant. It is described as the 'mother molecule' of all cannabinoids. Indeed, these are derived from cannabigerolic acid (CBGA), an acidic form of CBG. In the cannabis plant, CBG is available in smaller quantities than other cannabinoids.
This substance is not psychoactive and could potentially have neuroprotective, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and immune system stimulating effects.
Like any other cannabinoid, CBG interacts with the endocannabinoid system in various ways.
